My Positive Saturday

Wow, emotions are back today & it's really quite amazing. I just recited the disclosure of wrongdoing & teared up! It felt so good. I'm a little surprised at myself but I've done some things today that have made me feel good.
I went out and had some well deserved  me time, I had coffee, went to a farmers market & spent up on fruit. It's a great way to control the spending urges because fruit is the one food I will always eat so it's a great way to make sure I'm eating.
Then I bought myself a light lunch from a place I regularly visit where the girl who always serves me ALWAYS makes me smile. I almost go back just to have her serve me!
As I was eating, I heard a busker. This guy was so loud and confident and between songs he was wishing everyone a happy Saturday and shouting "Hooray for everything"
He made me smile, he could be heard by many people and seemed to be making others smile too. I always give money to entertaining buskers but I went to a nearby shop first & bought some tape. I taped a note to a $5 note saying- keep helping to make the world smile. We need more buskers like you!
He will never know it was me that did it, I just thought he deserved to receive some of the happiness he was trying so hard to give. These gestures always make me feel good, I hope I made him smile.
Before the trip home, I called into a local op shop. They are run by a very good charity, I inquired about helping out in future & bought some things for work. I decided since they do such good work, I'd buy my things secondhand and support a good cause rather than going shopping elsewhere.
So, all in all, I am feeling quite positive about my day and about what I've achieved. I am hoping to make these regular practices, noticing the world around me more and being more appreciative of it. Today, I feel blessed and extremely thankful

  1. That was a really nice gesture towards the busker. This world needs more nice people and more people who can make others smile. There is too much negativity out there, so we need to bring some happiness, even if it is with little gestures like yours.
